Keeping You Safe and Healthy on Build Day

What We’d Like Our Builders to Know …

Dear Volunteers:
Your safety and happiness mean more to us than you could know. As a result, we are working with the City of Columbus to ensure our build environment follows all safety precautions and stipulations. All in all, this year’s build will likely look very different, but we're working to make it just as special for everyone.

Here’s some of what you can expect on Build Day:

1. The Wagons Ho Ho Ho team is planning for concurrent builds at 3 different locations for safe social distancing.

2. Additional build locations will allow us to accommodate 9 total shifts (instead of 3, as is typical) and build fewer wagons per hour than previously needed.

3. In all, we will still build 1,500 wagons, which have been received and are awaiting your careful builder hands!

4. Masks will be required.

5. Families/groups that quarantine or work/hang out together routinely will be clustered together. Build locations will be pre-assigned.

6. Builders will be encouraged to bring their own tools. Our tools will also be available but sterilized between shifts.

7. Food and drink will be available, and we will continue to dance and celebrate, but that, too, may look different to allow for more safety.

8. We will stage arrival times and departure times to avoid crowds.
